The Beauty of the Change and Autumn’s Changes
When life takes a turn—whether it’s good, bad, or simply different—there’s this moment where you realize things aren’t lining up with what you thought they’d be. They don’t look like what you dreamed of or hoped for. And in that moment, you’re invited to pause, reevaluate, and pivot.
This year, I’ve realized that my word is pivot.
– Me
To me, pivoting means standing still long enough to take in where you are, noticing what’s working, and honestly admitting what’s not. Sometimes things just aren’t flowing in your favor. Sometimes you’re holding onto something so tightly that you don’t see the toll it’s taking on you. And then—whether you like it or not—something has to give.
Recently, during a conversation with my therapist, we both agreed: something big was about to shift. I could feel it building all year. And as autumn arrived—a season of letting go—the pivot finally came.
I earlier this year I made a big change. A leap. And you know what? It didn’t work out.
But here’s the beautiful part: that’s okay.
The universe has this way of sending signs when something isn’t meant to be. And fighting it is like swimming upstream in a current that’s far stronger than you. Exhaustion creeps in, burnout follows, and you’re left asking yourself: Why am I still fighting this?
So I stopped fighting and I pivoted.
I’m choosing to focus on what actually feels right—where I feel calm, creative, and at peace. I’m putting my energy into my mental health, my physical health, and the spaces in life where I feel grounded. And the relief that comes with letting go of what wasn’t working is incredible. It feels like setting down a heavy load I’ve been carrying for way too long.
When I look back at where I was a year ago, I’m struck by how far I’ve come—even if it doesn’t always feel that way in the moment. One of my therapist’s greatest gifts is reminding me of this truth: progress is happening, even when you can’t see it.
And yes, therapy is an investment I make out of pocket, but I see it as one of the best investments in myself. Because this journey is worth it.
So here I am, stepping into autumn with open hands & heart, ready to let go of what no longer serves me, and to trust that what’s coming next will be even better. 2026 is on the horizon, and I truly believe it’s going to be beautiful—different, yes, but in the best way possible.
My hope for you, my friends, is this: stop fighting against the current. Let go of what you think life should look like, and lean into what it actually is. Go with the flow. Trust the pivot. And let this season of release prepare you for everything that’s waiting ahead.
