Sometimes, you just need a reminder. A nudge. A wake-up call. Not because you’re lost—but because you’ve been on autopilot too long. You’ve been doing the thing—eating the food, pushing through the days, sticking to the habits—without really stopping to ask, why am I doing this? I am doing this right now, I have had a “hard time” of it lately. Depression is back and clawing at my soul. But I also know, in my heart it’s not long lasting and all the work I have done will pay off. But depression is not easy and will throw your ENTIRE life into the soul sucking chaos it brings. But…
And then you veer off track. You “mess up.” You stray from your routine. You go back to an old habit you thought you kicked. Maybe you call it a failure—but what if it’s not? What if it’s just a necessary detour?
What if the “wrong” choice is actually a reset button? A reminder of why you started doing things differently in the first place.
When I eat this, how do I feel? When I skip that habit, what happens to my mood? When I keep doing something that used to work but no longer does—how do I know it’s time to pivot?
Lately, I’ve been struggling—mentally, physically. I’ve felt that familiar whip-back effect, where life builds up and then hits hard. It’s happened before, and it’ll probably happen again. But this time, I saw it for what it was: a cycle. A pattern. A lesson in disguise.
We need these reminders. Sometimes you need to hit pause and go off-script just to feel the contrast. Sometimes you need the setback to see the growth. Because let’s be real—life isn’t static. It’s not a straight line. It’s constantly shifting. And so are we.
Our routines need to evolve with us. What worked six months ago might be the very thing holding us back now. And that’s not failure—that’s data. That’s feedback. That’s insight.
So maybe instead of beating ourselves up, we try something else. We experiment. We pivot. We choose to adjust. You don’t have to fix everything at once. You don’t need to dodge 25 threats every time you go outside or drink water from the faucet. Pick two. Start there.
Let’s stop letting fear—especially the kind pumped out by modern media—run the show. It’s exhausting. You were not meant to live scared. You were meant to live awake.
This journey? It’s messy. It’s real. It’s full of lessons you didn’t sign up for but needed anyway. So when you find yourself off the path—when your energy drops, your jeans feel tighter, your brain’s in a fog—don’t panic. You’re just being reminded: this isn’t working anymore. Time to reset. Time to change. Time to move forward.
Because growth isn’t just about progress. It’s about presence. And the freedom to change your mind.
